What Is a TSS Visa And Who Can Apply For It?
WHAT CAN YOU DO WITH THIS VISA?
It is a provisional visa that allows the bearer to reside in Australia and work full-time at a selected position for the contributing business. TSS visa applicants are allowed to add reliant family members to the candidacy.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR THE TSS VISA?
There are two types of TSS visas: Short-term and Medium-term. Those on the Short-term Skilled Occupations List (STSOL) are qualified for visas of two years, while those on the Medium and Long-Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) are qualified for visas of three or more years, with permanent resident status enrolment after three years.
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?
Occupation
The government’s Department of Home Affairs (previously DIBP) utilises the Australian New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations (ANZSCO) to determine if the suggested chosen profession accurately reflects the requirements of the post.
The post description, as well as the claimant’s career and educational qualifications, must match the ANZSCO characterisation.
Applicant Qualifications
The individual must possess the necessary abilities to do the job. Although the abilities differ depending on the profession, all candidates must have a minimum relevant work experience of 2 years. Home Affairs assessment officers cross-reference the employment information supplied in the client’s candidacy application with both the visa respondent’s education and work contacts when assessing a visa claimant’s abilities and credentials against the designated post.
Individuals that are not from an exempt nation (the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, New Zealand, or Ireland) must additionally complete English language standards at the beginning of the term.
HOW DO I SUBMIT AN APPLICATION?
The application procedure is divided into three phases.
1 – The most common type of company sponsorship
In hiring and selecting a holder, a company must first be a Standard Business Sponsor. A legal and operational activity in Australia is required to secure a Standard Business Sponsorship agreement. This involves deciding the appropriate ABN to implement under, signing up the trademark, submitting Business Activity Statements (BAS) and financial information, demonstrating a devotion to instructing Australian residents, and adhering to an organisation and perhaps other Australian policies.
2. Nomination
Following the submission of an SBS application, an employer must designate a job inside their company that must be filled by a foreign national. Various conditions must be satisfied as part of this step:
Testing the Labor Market
A firm must indicate how they have examined the employment market before nominating a person for a TSS visa. Establishing that the firm inadequately marketed for the specified position is part of labour market assessment. For part of the program, documentation will be required, and the factual standards are extremely strict.
Salary Range
The suggested role’s remuneration must fulfil two standards. Firstly, the compensation must be more than the Income Threshold for Temporary Skilled Migration (TSMIT). Next, the suggested wage must be competitive for the position. This assures that the candidate will be compensated fairly in comparison to Australian colleagues in similar positions.
Levy for Training
The TSS visa comes with a unique Skilling Australians Fund (SAF) tax that must be paid during the proposal phase. The SAF tax will significantly increase the cost of choosing personnel for a company.
